Subconscious Narrative Therapy™ (SNT)Boundaries · a short course for practitioners
Install boundaries that actually hold.
In minutes.
Your client leaves your room clear and strong. Then the ex, the parent or the boss gets to them again, and you hear about it next session.
The SNT Boundaries process installs the boundary where it is actually held, below conscious awareness, so it keeps your client safe, in control and responsive when you’re not in the room. No scripts. No rehearsing. No borrowed shield.
Instant access: the explainer, a full demonstration with a client, and every step on video.

Trauma and boundaries
The first thing to go, and the last thing to be resolved
As therapists and practitioners, we know that where there has been trauma or abuse, boundaries are often the first thing to go, and the last thing to be resolved.
Boundaries go after:
- Trauma
- Abuse
- Childhood neglect, or a lack of care growing up
- Growing up with an addicted, unwell or unpredictable parent
- Enmeshed families, where no one had their own space
- Controlling, narcissistic or coercive relationships
- Bullying
- A lifetime of people-pleasing
- Codependency
- Burnout from always being the one who copes
The SNT boundary process is an elegant way of helping your clients install boundaries that hold: quickly, safely and effectively.
If you work with boundaries, you know this client
You’ve done good work together. They understand the pattern. And it still isn’t holding.
- They leave clear and strong. A week later, they’re back with the same story.
- They know every script and every “I” statement, then freeze the moment that person is in front of them.
- You’ve role-played it, rehearsed it, given them the shield and the white light. It held until it mattered.
- They say yes when they mean no, spend the week resenting it, and spend the next session unpacking it.
- You’ve become their boundary: the person they call after every incident.
- And underneath it all, the worry. They keep going back to someone who isn’t safe for them.
Talking about a boundary isn’t having one.
Your client doesn’t need more insight. They need a boundary that holds when the pressure comes on and every script disappears.
Until it changes where it is actually held, you’ll keep hearing the same story, session after session.
Become the practitioner whose clients’ boundaries hold when they walk out of the room.
The contrarian truthThe less your client rehearses what to say, the more their boundary holds.
Why the usual advice doesn't hold
"I let people walk all over me." "They don't have any boundaries." These aren't just figures of speech. They are metaphors, and they are accurate. They describe how the boundary is actually held, below conscious awareness.
Most advice hands your client someone else’s metaphor: a shield, a wall, a bubble of white light. It has no connection to how their own boundary works, so under pressure it gives way.
SNT works with their own. Their deeper mind shows them the boundary as it really is, and updates it from there.
The mechanism
Finally, a process that installs the boundary
Not advice about boundaries. A process that changes the boundary itself, then tests it in the session, before your client leaves the room.
See the boundary as it is
Your client’s deeper mind gives a symbol of their boundary, exactly as it is held right now. You can both see why it fails.
Bring in the people it fails with
The partner, the parent, the boss. You watch how the boundary responds, and how your client is left feeling.
Let it update
Their deeper mind updates the boundary until it keeps them safe, in control and responsive. You don’t design it. You hold the frame and pace.
Test it and future pace it
Bring the same people back in and test it. When it holds, future pace it into the situations ahead. You both know it holds before the session ends.
The people who used to get past it no longer can.
Your client decides what comes in and what doesn’t.
Not a wall. They stay open to the people who are good for them.
What changes in your practice
Boundary problems sit inside so many cases: relationships, family, work, trauma. Now you have a process for all of them.
- Install a boundary in a single process, and test it before the session ends.
- Send clients home with a boundary that holds without you there, instead of a script they’ll forget under pressure.
- Stop being your client’s boundary. The calls after every incident stop being the work.
- Know it held, rather than hope it did, because you tested it against the people it used to fail with.
- Work where the boundary is actually held, with your client’s own symbols, not someone else’s metaphor.
- See the SNT method work in your own room, before you commit to the full two-day training.
What practitioners say about SNT
The Boundaries process is one part of SNT. This is what practitioners say about the method.
Works a charm with analytical people like myself. I just had a client who had done 20 traditional hypno sessions with no success. One [SNT] session got the outcome. The client was blown away!
I am in awe of this process and the profound impact this method has on my clients' lives.
My clients are blown away by the method. I can't wait to use it with more clients in the future.
